Know the Story
Behind the glamour, the work still has to hold the room.
I drew She’s All Talk from the Sunset Strip in 1988, when the Whisky a Go Go and Gazzarri’s held bands and nights I remember as lived history rather than borrowed nostalgia.
This is not nostalgia. It is history.
The origin
The song returns to the Sunset Strip in 1988—to the Whisky a Go Go, Gazzarri’s and nights when bands had to earn the room. Eric, Kenny, Todd and Mark become part of a memory about owning the stage, the audience, the music and the beat while recognizing the difference between real presence and empty glamour.
