I built L.A. Baby from my lived East L.A. memories, where celebrity encounters, familiar streets, perfect weather, favorite food and ordinary errands become part of the same absurdly believable city story.
What can I say? That’s just L.A.
The origin
The song moves through real Los Angeles memories with an amused eye: Disneyland for the hundredth time, Famous Amos before the fame, a high school appearing on screen, chance celebrity encounters, taco trucks, Tommy’s and Dodger Stadium. The improbable and the everyday belong to the same city.
